His courses are really entertaining, and exams are based straight from them. He tells fascinating stories; you can tell he likes to hear himself talk (which isn't a bad thing). exams are straight from the lecture (it's worth repeating)... I don' think I opened the (online) textbook. |

Great teacher, but very strict and mean. He denied me the right to the extended time that I receive through the University on top of an very difficult exam. He never responded to my emails either. He's a great teacher, but very unaccommodating and rough. |

Murnane doesn't teach from a book, lecture slides, power points, or anything really tangible. He just courses, its up to the student to get the information down the first time. He doesn't like to repeat himself and he does not enjoy questions. |

Dr. Murnane is the great prof. I have had at Maryland so far. He is very knowledgeable, but even more impressive, he is a fabulous transmitter of that knowledge. He inspires, humors, and is truly a gift of a teacher. You MUST take a class with him before you graduate!! |

my favorite teacher by far, makes courses very fascinating and hillarious. attendance is mandatory, most all of his exam questions come straight from lecture. barely used the textbook at all, i definitely recommend taking his class |

Murnane is the great prof. I've had so far in my freshman year. He makes the courses fascinating by telling hillarious stories and jokes. He curses a lot which can be offensive to some. You have toread textbook things on your own a lot and come to lecture which is annoying but worth it. Hes strict but he really seems to care about his students |

omg what are these ppl talking about this guy was dull and not hillarious..Im not offended by his jokes or anything but he was dull!!! His exams were not simple. I took him freshman year and the TA apologized to us for the exams and stated how she felt sorry for us. Hes crazy!! And the textbook was necessary in my world i saw half the class using it. |

Dr. Murnane is a great prof.! His courses are wildly entertaining and mildly offensive. Definitely attend every lecture and take amazing notes as he does not really put much on the overhead. His exams are pretty much right off the lecture notes. Definitely take him if you can! |

Ridiculously hillarious...will relate everything back to sex, drugs, and flat out personal experience. Some will and do find him very offensive, but with my sense of humor I liked it. He difficultly ever uses the textbook, and his exams are very lecture-oriented, so it's very important to go to class. I will absolutely take another one of his courses! |

GREAT prof.! I took him freshman year, he really knows his things! You really don't need to buy the book as long as you can take great notes and come to class. He was hilarious, which really kept the class fascinating. However, I can understand how those with political views on the more conservative side could find him to be a bit disagreeable. |
