I come from Mali where I spent more than 6 years teaching German. I attended several trainings led by the German Embassy in Bamako with the most qualified professors. I taught German at more than 3 Malian high schools, with more than 300 students in one of the best schools in Mali.

Courage and a good prepared lesson, plus communication, make a good German teacher. Active oral and written exercises are better for students, for it improves capacity and understanding.
