I love seeing the look on a student's face when he or she has grasped a concept or skill that was once a challenge. My passion for helping struggling students began 10+ years ago when I became a Reading Recovery Teacher for 1st grade students who had great reading difficulty. Seeing these students go from not knowing a letter from a word to becoming fluent on grade level readers became the highlight of my teaching career.
