No help whatsoever. Will brush your request for help away without a care. Only saving grace is the massive curve given.
He is not that great for lecture. courses are VERY dull, he doesn't teach in a very logical flow. He also doesn't really directly answers questions. His exams can be friendlya difficult, sometimes impartial but sometimes has random things that doesn't exam knowledge of material. I would read the book. His class isn't very fascinating but there's as great curve
Do not expect Steffek to explain anything in courses. His exams cover only one or two chapters when it is suppose to cover 6 chapters. He doesn't talk at you but at the chalkboard with a monotone voice for the whole lecture. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU LIKE HAVING TEACHERS EXPLAIN THINGS TO YOU!!!
I took lab with him, and I never saw his face once. The exams were ridiculous and the average for the mid year exam was about 50%. I pretty much expect this from the lab prof.s here at UMD, though. Also, considering it's a 1 credit class, the amount of work is incredible. For the lab reports, you WON'T get the answer without help from the TA's.
He is great teacher and he really explain material when you ask him or go to his office, but his exams are dificult becaus he always ask 1 or 2 problems that he did not go over in class...i heard he really curves d grades and i will be fine if he does that...take him, but you will do the work. |
