If you're trying to decide whether to take Opoku or O'Brien, the main difference is that O'Brien likes to emphasize physiology and understanding concepts rather than just memorization, she has short essay questions on her exams. Opoku is more about memorization and emphasizes less physiology concepts. O'Brien is great prof. and pretty accommodating.
After learning that her class was deemed too simple, Dr. O'Brien completely stepped it up making her exams close to impossible. It's not necessary to go to class, but be aware that her powerpoints jump from one topic to the next and then back again. Confusing!! friendly prof. but terrible at teaching. LABS are worthless!
Tammatha is a very great teacher. She is very enthusiastic and loves what she teaches. It helps that she is very knowledgeable on the material as well, as you can ask her just about anything you can think of and she will be able to answer it. Not an simple class in the least bit, but Dr. O'Brien can definitely make it fascinating.
She's definitely the great prof. to have at 8 am! Her energy and enthusiasm in the topic keeps you interested. She's very approachable and the textbook is not needed because her lecture notes are really thorough
This class is very difficult and requires a lot of time on your part out of class, but Dr. O'Brien is an amazing teacher that knows the material incredibly well and is very passionate in her teaching. She makes it enjoyable to learn the subject even if it is not your interest. Overall, great teacher but difficult class.
I thought she did a fantastic job keeping me interested in anatomy despite the subject material being very dense. I didn't find the material itself difficult at all, but its sheer volume of information to remember. She definitely emphasizes what she thinks is important in each lecture. I'm taking her again this semester for BSCI202 |
