Definitely a challenging course but Prof Hamilton gave more than enough chances for extra credit. courses were very fascinating and he did a great job of explaining some very difficult concepts. Stay away if you aren?t science oriented or aren?t responsible enough to attend the courses. Otherwise, well worth it!
prof. Hamilton loves astronomy and you can really tell that through this courses. The class is very difficult though and he makes you turn in homework that we have not covered in class yet. He assumed that we knew how to do the math when some of us didnt
The course was very difficult. It did feel like a 400 level course, when it was only an elective. It also didn't help that he fired my TA mid-semester, and seemed to not care that our section was not getting the proper material and our new TA had a stick up her butt! I would NOT recommend this course if you are not an Asrtonomy major. COURSE SUCKS
This guy is terrible. I don't know what the other raters are on, but this made the 100 level class like a 400 level! He's anal about potential cheating, and pats you down after exams! I took this as an elective and it killed my GPA. AVOID!
Hamilton loves Astronomy, and you can certainly tell through his courses. Has almost a fetish for exploding helium balloons, and his crazy demonstrations in class ACTUALLY relate to the material being learned, which helps me remember certain concepts for the exams. exams, by the way, are no walk in the park, but he gives bonus points in lecture! |
