He spent most of class time explaining the theory behind calculus and not enough time going over problems. He is often difficult to understand. He makes tests much harder than the homework problems or ones done in class, so there are problems I can't do. I always payed attention in class, but I got a C for what felt like an A effort.
I had Cremins for 130 and 131. difficultly ever went to class, and used the book instead. He's disorganized and does not know how to control a class. If you have no choice but to have him, it would be great idea to become great friends with the TAs, who often understand how impossible he makes calculus.
If you have never taken calculus before I would NOT recommend taking Cremins. You could tell he was not used to teaching this class based on how unprepared he was for each lecture. He was unclear about Web Assign homework and the TAs were not of much help either. If you are a math whiz you'll probably be fine but if not do not take him
He is really dull. difficult to understand and unclear about what he wants with web assign homework. |
