She is a reasonable and friendly person, but the subject matter is not presented in an fascinating way and because the class is so short, not much is actually discussed in class. simple grader on papers and presentations but don't take this class if you won't do the reading. The final is very comprehensive. Most pointless class I've taken at UMD.
great prof.. difficult grader. Incredibly fascinating class, one of the great I have had.
I don't know who posted the most recent comment below me, but they are so wrong. I am in the same class as them with prof. Bearden this semester-and she is GREAT. In no way is this class dull or unfascinating.(and we just turned in a paper literally yesterday so I don't know how they can say she returns papers late). I recommend her.
she is a friendly lady, but her teaching style is awful. she just sits at her desk and talks the whole time, which she can't help because she's blind, but she doesn't try to make class fascinating. she takes forever giving back papers and is a difficult grader- 40% of the whole class grade is the final exam! avoid her medieval lit class at all costs. |
