FBIS features alum from Financial Advantage Associates

                Last Wednesday, the vice president of field development from Financial Advantage Associates came to speak at a Financial Banking and Investment Society meeting.

                University Maryland alum Jason Silverberg spoke to students about his experience at Financial Advantage Associates, and also answered students questions.

                According to the Financial Advantage Associates website, Silverberg joined the company as an intern during his senior year at Maryland in 2005. He has since been promoted up to the position of vice president of field development.

                "He emphasized finding something you really love to do," FBIS President Anna Mayr said.

                Mayr, a junior finance major, said that during the hour long speech he told students to find something they are passionate about.  Silverberg said that he loves helping people, and that is why he enjoys his career.

                One of the goals of FBIS is to give students an understanding of what the career field they are entering will be like. FBIS President Anna Mayr said they try to get a variety of speakers to meet their students' needs.

                 "We love alumni who come back," Mayr said. "They are down to earth."

                Around 15 people attended the speech, which Mayr said is impressive because the speech took place during a tornado warning.
