CP Cookies cures the munchies
A new business in town, CP Cookies, has become popular among college students with its late-night delivery of goodies.
Two roommates – Corey Kaminsky and David Birenbaum – devised the idea for CP Cookies. Birenbaum's talent for baking and Kaminksy's need for a part-time job fused to bring about the idea of starting the snacks business.
Kaminsky said that they wanted to fill what they thought was a void in the local market so he enlisted a good friend, Vinnie Vendemia, to help with the baking and delivering.
Only a few College Park restaurants are opened late. Because of this, the idea to set up CP Cookies seemed feasible and convenient, Kaminsky added.
"The aim of CP Cookies is to provide customers with quality late-night snacks at an affordable price, without the hassle of having to pick it up themselves," Kaminsky said.
For a few dollars, warm snacks like chocolate chip cookies and brownies can be delivered straight to your door in as little as 10 minutes.
"If you want a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie at midnight, then I'd definitely suggest calling them," said sophomore government and politics major Emily Zier.
CP Cookies offers online ordering, and except for Friday and Saturday, is open for delivery every day from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., according to its website.
Kaminsky said he designed and coded the website, which will function as their storefront for the time being.
CP Cookies has a Facebook fan page and Twitter account. Students can keep up with the latest news on the late-night delivery company and can score deals and discounts too.
Many students said they appreciate the fast and convenient service that the business provides.
"CP Cookies is run by a dedicated staff providing University View residents with the ultimate midnight snack," said junior communication major Kristen Tadrous.
Currently, CP Cookies only delivers to residents of the University View. Future plans to expand the delivery zone are in the works and the CP Cookies' team hopes to increase their customer base by the start of the spring semester, Kaminsky said.
