SUSA organizes Ghosts of Georgetown event

Every Halloween, students expect to get treats, not tricks. Last night, members of the Smith Undergraduate Student Association got both.

Approximately 10 students went on a ghost tour of Georgetown on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The event cost $6 per person.

"We traveled to many different locations in Georgetown with a really wacky tour guide," said sophomore accounting and information systems major Alex March. "At each stop he performed some sort of ‘spooky' magic trick for us and told us stories about why that particular place was haunted."

Ghosts of Georgetown gave SUSA students a lantern-lit tour of the city. Falin Patel, SUSA's Vice President of Events, organized the event. SUSA plans socials periodically as a way for members to relieve the stress of school and inspire camaraderie amongst its members. 

"The ideas of our SUSA socials are to bond SUSA members as a family," said junior accounting and information systems major Girish Chaskar. "[The event] was a great success. This idea just seemed like a perfect memory for any SUSA member to look back on."

This was the first year SUSA planned a Halloween event, but it may not be the last.

"I do not believe that they have done this event before, [but] I would suggest to do this same event next year," March said. "I thought the event was a lot of fun. I had a great time with my friends in SUSA while learning much about some of Georgetown's spooky history. I am really glad I went."
