Looking for a place to study inside the Smith school? Thanks to Dean Anand's efforts to provide students with more resources, we officially have our own undergraduate study nooks. Check out our new student lounges in 1407 and in the basement of Van Munching .
Looking for a place to study outside the Smith school? Maybe in Shanghai? Jeff Lue is.  Jeff's original plans were supposed to take him to Australia for just the winter. After running into a friend at the Study Abroad Fair, though, applying to the China program came into mind.
"A friend of mine randomly told me about the china program and I thought, but why China over Australia?"
After learning about the Smith in China program, though, Jeff thought if he was going to take the jump abroad, why not really go for it? Jeff's main concern was not having the right credits available to him while abroad, but since Jeff is a business student, the courses should make for an easy semester match. In addition, the Smith in Shanghai program is being promoted heavily with scholarships; which eases some of the worry with monetary constraints. As Jeff said, "free money is always nice."
In addition to the credits and tuition working into his game plan, the World Expo is also going to be conveniently taking place in Shanghai during the term. A fascinating event to encounter, it should be even livelier and exciting half-way across the world at the famous ‘Bund' in Shanghai.  Perhaps the biggest attraction of all for Jeff, though, is the prospect of an internship over in China. The program is said to provide students with the resources for acquiring an internship abroad. And on top of everything, Jeff would be retreating to his heritage homeland.
"Growing up, I was more in tune with my heritage and language… over the years, though, it goes away without practice.. I always wanted to go back… I could take classes, but it just wouldn't do it justice. Nothing beats immersion." Well spoken, Jeff. Anyone else hooked?
