The US Environmental Protection Agency is seeking healthy, non-smoking adults ages 18 to 35 for a research study.The purpose of the research study is to determine whether 3-day consecutive exposures to levels of particulate matter (PM2.5) that are close to the current national 24-hr standard will cause changes in inflammatory and cardiopulmonary endpoints in healthy young individuals. You will do breathing, blood pressure, and heart rate tests. You will breathe clean filtered air and air with carefully controlled amounts of concentrated ambient particles in a chamber under three exposure scenarios. Payment will be given for screening, study, and out-of-town travel.
