FIELD TECHNICIAN Where: Richmond, VA with possible travel within 1.5 hour driveAnticipated Start Date: May  31, 2022Benefits: Yes - Paid Time Off (Up to 13 days first year); Health & DentalPurpose:Under general supervision, perform skilled and complex tasks related to the installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of solar-powered, computer-based, electronic, multi-space kiosks, access and revenue control systems, and electrical vehicle charging stations. Duties, Functions & Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:Responds to calls and alarms regarding parking equipment breakdowns and malfunctions. Assists customers in performing transactions and understanding parking regulations.Utilizes various software applications to prepare signage, and to repair, maintain, and monitor parking kiosks and access and revenue control systems. Troubleshoots system malfunctions and failures and replaces defective components and wiring. Disassembles, cleans, calibrates, and tests. Inspects and tests equipment using diagnostics and analytic tools. Collects and logs revenue from kiosks and prepares deposits. Secures and transports revenue and completes paperwork. Issues citations or provides other mobility related services as assigned. Assists in providing training and guidance, and monitors the work of others for completion. Leadership Responsibilities:May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, and guidance to others. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of equipment installation, device software installation, and basic computer and networking principles. Knowledge of cash handling procedures. Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in use of hand tools, measuring devices. Skill in use of informational databases to track items or monitor progress. Ability to install, splice, remove, and test wiring in electric components. Ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback regarding the work of others. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, profiles, work orders, and schematics. Ability to use cell phones and communications equipment.
