SUSA looks for students to fill leadership positions

The Smith Student Undergraduate Association (SUSA), a governing body of the Smith Business School, is seeking new members for leadership and non-leadership involvement.

Brian Doyle, President of the SUSA, said that positions for Class Representatives, Committee Chair, and Executive Board are all open for application. Although Executive Board applicants must have prior SUSA experience, the other positions do not have any prerequisites.

Perri Finkelstein, Chair of the New Student Involvement committee, assures new students to SUSA that there is "an array of networks to reach out to," and that he can "help students connect the dots."

Positions are decided by election, but no campaigning is necessary. Doyle said that even if one is not an official business major, "the SUSA Assembly, as well as all of the SUSA Committees, is open to non-business majors."

Finkelstein noted that being in leadership also "looks great to companies" for those who are resume minded. Doyle said the biggest reasons for joining are developing leadership qualities and creating new friendships. Even if you aren't elected to one of these three positions, he assured that there are over 175 leadership positions to get involved in.

"Whether you are a member of the fundraising committee or the Vice President of Administration, you will be put in a position where you are given the chance to lead change and make an impact on the Smith School."
