Not sure if this is interesting but a biz school student Ryan Patrick Brown, has been selected as one of six
out of 2,000 applicants to join the white house as an intern beginning in january.
He will have to temporarily leave the smith school but its a big honor. He previously did an internship with the dept of homeland security. It would be an interesting article to see how he accomplished getting selected....

"Perfect" does not describe the University of Maryland or College Park. Both need work, but there are plenty of local businesses, homeowners and public officials who definitely enhance the university. Blanketing "the city" as a detractor is way too general. The success of the city and the university are intertwined, and scoffing at the predictable "failure" of the city every time there are crimes or out-of-control parties does little to positively influence the situation.
